The Top End T20 Series 2025 began with fireworks at Darwin’s TIO Stadium on August 14, as the Pakistan Shaheens produced a dominant all-round display to defeat Bangladesh ‘A’ by 79 runs. From blistering batting to clinical bowling, the Shaheens left no doubt about their intent in this year’s competition.
Nafay, Yasir, and Samad Lead the Charge
Electing to bat first, the Shaheens put on a batting masterclass. Khawaja Nafay and Yasir Khan tore into the opposition, adding a rapid 100-run opening stand.

- Yasir: 62 off 40 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes)
After the openers set the stage, Abdul Samad stole the spotlight. His unbeaten 56 off 27 balls included three sixes in one over from Mohammad Saif Hassan. Skipper Irfan Khan added a brisk 25 off 12 deliveries, taking Pakistan Shaheens to a massive 227/4 in 20 overs.

Bangladesh ‘A’ Falter Under Pressure
The chase began poorly for Bangladesh ‘A’ as opener Mohammad Naim was bowl by Ubaid Shah for just five. Jishan Alam (33 off 17) and Saif Hassan (57 off 32) provided temporary resistance with an 86-run stand, but once Wasim Jr. removed Hassan, the collapse was inevitable.

Bangladesh ‘A’ were bowled out for 148 in 16.4 overs, handing the Shaheens a commanding victory.
